Woody Oliver is Lead Pastor at Harmony Baptist Church. He was called to Harmony in April of 2010, leaving his position as pastor at Woodfields Baptist Church in Greenwood, SC. He served there for four years. Prior to that, he was the assistant pastor at Northlake Baptist Church in Garland, TX, for five years. Woody is a native of Summit, NJ, but South Carolina is home.
Woody has a BA in Social Studies/Education from Warren Wilson College in Ashville, NC. From there, he went on to study for two years at Dallas Theological Seminary and three years at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX, in 2005.
Woody is married to the beautiful and multi-talented Dena and they have four daughters: Kate, Adrienne, Bailey, and Olivia. Kate and her husband, Nathan, have a son, Saylor, and two daughters; Susannah and Liesl.
Woody is passionate about his incredible wife and his awesome daughters. He loves to watch people grow in Christ. He knows that when people accept Jesus Christ and get intentional about becoming more like Jesus, everything changes. Woody admits that he is a flawed but redeemed guy who loves Jesus Christ, desires to live as if he loves Jesus Christ, and he seeks to passionately live out biblical principles.
